How much of yourself is in your songs?
A lot. But mostly, there is a lot of everyone. They talk about experiences shared by so many of us. Not new experiences, just personal discoveries of growing up and relating.
Why did you decide to name your first album (or first song collection) ‘Foreign Sketches’?
They are sketches as they are presented in a very raw form, just my voice and guitar, like a chalk drawing needed to be filled in by colours. And they are foreign, as i don't understand them completely yet.
Do you think that people will relate easily with your songs?
I wouldn't know… There are people who like aubergine and cucumber, so i hope there will be people who like my music. (laughs)
What would you say to anyone who will be reading this interview to make him/her feel like hearing your songs?
They are all about sex! (laughs) No!... I don't know... How do you convince someone to jump off a plane? Music is so personal, it is a gift of some kind, so this is a gift from me to whoever wants to hear it.
Which is the best compliment you have ever been told about your performance?
Hmm… I think when I was told by this amazing French composer I reminded him of Piaf...
