Madalena will be performing the role of Carrie in Jeff Wayne's THE WAR OF THE WORLDS, at the Dominion Theatre, in London's West End, from the 8th February 2016.
Previously Madalena performed the role of Grizabella in selected performances of CATS at the London Palladium, in the West End, where the show run from 23rd October 2015 to 2nd January 2016.
In April 2015 Madalena joined the cast of THE VOTE, a play by James Graham directed by Josie Rourke, at London's Donmar Warehouse, alongside Judi Dench, Mark Gatiss and Catherine Tate, which aired live on More4 tv channel.
In Fall 2014 Madalena starred as Eva Peron in EVITA in the West End, after starring in the show's UK Tour since May 2013. The production, directed by Bob Tomson and Bill Kenwright, opened at the New Wimbledon Theatre in London.
played the role of Fantine in the acclaimed 25th Anniversary production of 'Les Miserables', which opened at the Wales Millenium Centre in Cardiff in December 2009 and ended at the Barbican Theatre (London) in October 2010. She also took part of the O2 Arena concert of 'Les Miserables'.
In March-April 2013, Madalena played the role of
Piaf in selected performances of PIAF at the Curve Theatre, in Leicester.
In the Spring 2012 Madalena played the role of Lucy in the acclaimed Morphic Graffiti production of JEKYLL AND HYDE at the Union Theatre. And in September 2012 she starred in the workshop reading of THERESE RAQUIN, a new musical written by Craig Adams at the Finborough Theatre.
Madalena has also played the roles of Lucy in 'The Threepenny Opera' (Lisbon, 2005), Carmen Diaz in 'Fame' (UK Tour, 2007) and Hunyak in 'Chicago' (Kuala Lumpur, 2007). Madalena was part of the original cast of the West End production of 'Zorro the Musical' (Garrick Theatre, 2008), and she had the chance to play the role of Luisa. In Summer 2009 Madalena played the role of Sam in Christopher Hamilton’s new musical 'Over the Threshold' at the Edinburgh Festival, and then in London; and in the Spring 2011 she played Sonia in GODSPELL at the Union Theatre (London).
Madalena has also been invited to perform at several musical theatre galas in London, such as the 4th and the 2nd Tim Williams Awards at the Cochrane Theatre (2009 and 2011); the Whatsonstage Awards Concert (2011), the Giggin For Good concert at the Actors Church in Convent Garden (2011), the Mercury Musical Developments 20th Anniversary Gala Concert at West End's Novello Theatre (2012), Scott Alan's concerts at St James Studio and at the Hippodrome (2015), West End Bares (2015) and Tim Rice's anniversary concert (2015)
Madalena made her Spanish debut in Barcelona on the 3rd December 2012, performing in an intimate concert at La Cova del Drac with Alfonso Casado as Musical Director and with Nina and Daniel Anglès as special guests. In March 2015 Madalena performed a sold-out concert at L'Auditori.
Madalena starred in the concerts 'O Melhor dos Musicais no Coliseu' at Coliseu dos Recreios Lisbon (Portugal) on the 22nd February 2013 and on the 20th November 2013 alongside John Owen-Jones, Robyn North / Sofia Escobar and Henrique Feist with Nuno Feist as Musical Director.
Madalena made her London solo cabaret debut in July 2015 at the St James Studio with a sold-out concert.
